Michael has been helping people understand technology since 1984. It's been a passion of his to transition techno-phobes to fully functional geeks. From an early age he's been able to take complex ideas and present them in a way that anyone can understand.
There hasn't been a single career for Michael. Instead he says he's on his his fifth. Michael started his professional career in print-based graphic design in 1987. That was followed by a long path of computer support. Michael was an Apple Authorized Value Added Reseller, with a banner $500k year in the 90's. From there he saw the future – the web, and transitioned again into web-based startups. Now Michael enjoys life as CEO and CTO of a few companies, and is also a regular content producer.
Today, in addition to being a father and husband, Michael hosts two popular area technology events, Boulder Open Coffee Club and Denver Open Coffee Club, hosts three weekly podcasts, Boulder Open Podcast, Three InSight, and OS Perspectives, runs two irregular meetups (Colorado Podcasters, and Boulder Web Design), and runs four companies: HyperSites, Callisto.fm, TheDrive.fm (Shh!), and ModernTech101. |
| | | Lamar Greene: Everything else
Lamar is also a geek. His passion is playing with, and understanding technology. As an avid Apple fan, he's interested in learning to develop applications for iOS devices (iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad).
He's passed the CCNA certification courses and holds an Associates Degree in Film/Video Production, with an emphasis in Post. In addition, he's spent many a late night (and early morning) learning programs, tearing things apart, and sometimes putting them back together.
Currently, Lamar is working in Tech Support for a major travel corporation. This involves troubleshooting and repairing a variety of devices including laptops, desktops, printers and software.
